Obituary of Jeffrey La Tourette

Jeff grew up in Irondequoit and went to Eastridge High School. He is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo. He celebrated 35 years of marriage with his wife Margie this past April. Jeff's favorite role in life was that of "Dad". Jeff coached his son Kevin's T-Ball team and he was the consummate soccer dad for Kevin's Canandaigua Attack team and then later for the JV and Varsity Canandaigua teams, rarely missing a game. He was extremely proud of Kevin and his wife Haley and could often be heard bragging about all of their accomplishments. His granddaughter Cora was born on June 11th this year and he was overcome with emotion when he held her for the first time.

Jeff retired from Frito Lay where he worked as a route salesman. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening, exercising, fixing up the house and taking daily walks while listening to podcasts of sports programs. He was a long suffering Buffalo Bills fan. Jeff volunteered for Embrace Your Sisters and he was the crossing guard for the Positively Pink in Pittsford Breast cancer walk. Jeff was working on his bucket list and he recently went on a trip in a motor home with his beloved brother Phil to New England to visit his parents childhood home and to find the family summer home on Lake Champlain. Another bucket list item was a Jeep excursion in Colorado with his son Kevin, sister-in-law Annabelle and brother-in-law Pat.

Anyone who knew him was aware of his wicked sense of humor. Jeff was always ready to lend a hand if a friend, neighbor or family member needed help with anything. He was the go-to-guy if anyone needed help with their computer. (especially Martha and Lauren!) He was blessed to have many friends and a large family who he loved spending time with, whether it was a picnic, dinner out or visiting a micro brewery. He regaled anyone who would listen to a dissertation on the finer points of India Pale Ale.

Jeff passed away peacefully in his sleep. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday October 23rd at Irondequoit Presbyterian Church at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can br made to Embrace Your Sisters.
